We are experienced, university teachers-lecturers-researchers with many years of experience teaching academic strategies used by successful academics (see Biographies).
Finding a Specialist
As an undergraduate you will probably hear a lot about being an independent, self directed, adult learner. However, it can be hard to find out what this actually means. Even before the recent cuts to higher education, finding real academic specialists was hard enough. One major university we know only had 9 academic specialists to help over 7,500 undergraduates. This number is being drastically reduced and the same could apply in universities across the country.
Private Tuition - Beware!
As universities offer less, you may notice more and more adverts for “Private Tutors”. Unfortunately, hardly any of these tutors are experienced, qualified university academics with an excellent working knowledge of assignments and assessment methodologies.
